Surrounded by typically Swiss scenery, Brunnen is near numerous mountain railways and aerial cableways, many of which are best reached by boat. Alternately you might also enjoy a trip back in time by cruising on one of the iconic paddle steamers dating from the early 20th century. The relaxing cruise from Brunnen to Flüelen is one of the most spectacular journeys in Switzerland and takes just under an hour. In Flüelen there are onward train connections over the legendary Gotthard route or you could take the Eggbergen cableway, which is located just 12 mins from the Flüelen pier. A similar attraction is the Hinterbergen cableway in Vitznau.

Yes, ships call in Brunnen 365 days a year, but please note that during the winter the service frequency is reduced. From Brunnen it is possible to make cruises on Lake Uri towards Flüelen or also in the other direction towards Treib-Seelisberg, Beckenried, Vitznau and Lucerne. At most of these piers there are convenient interchange options on to panoramic mountain railways or aerial cableways, allowing you to go mountaineering with comfort and ease. During the summer months the ticket office at the Brunnen boat pier is staffed with a friendly employee, who will also give you information about nearby attractions and timetable connections. During winter you may purchase any cruise ticket directly on the ship.

Yes, during the main season from spring to autumn, the historic paddle steamers call in Brunnen on the full-lake cruises from Lucerne to Flüelen and back to Lucerne. During the spring and autumn season, there are at least two steamboat departures from Brunnen per day (one towards Flüelen and the other towards Lucerne), while during the high summer season, there are even more frequent steamboat connections.
